The Dangers Of Rodents In Orange County, CA

Rodents are some of the most dangerous pests you can get in your house because they are a threat to both your health and your property. Of course, rodents spread a plethora of dangerous and potentially deadly illnesses. They have no compunction about leaving feces in your food stores, and they also smear germs all over your food prep surfaces and every other inch of your house with their filthy feet.

Rodents are also extremely destructive to property because all rodents have front incisors that never stop growing. This means they have to constantly chew on just about everything in your house to grind down their teeth. This can lead them to do serious damage to your plumbing and your electrical wiring, which is a fire hazard. Rodents also love to rip up plush furniture and insulation for their nests. All of this means you definitely want to keep these destructive pests out of your house in Anaheim.

Our Rodent Control Process

The first thing we do when we come out to your house is perform a thorough inspection to figure out what types of house rodents are infesting your home and the extent of the infestation. We will look for things like:

  • Urine stains
  • Skin oils and shed hair
  • Droppings
  • Nesting evidence
  • Food leftovers
  • Rub marks
  • Entry points

Based on these findings, we will be able to figure out what kinds of rodents you have, what they are eating, and how they are getting into your house. We will build our rodent eradication plan based on what we discover.

We prefer to bait rodents with the food they have been eating. This means we will set up glue boards and snap traps using the same food that rodents have been stealing from your kitchen. Trapping them with what they are already eating in the house is better because rodents are smart and are aware of new items in their surroundings. They may be suspicious of traps that contain food that is not already in your home.

On our initial service, we will set up traps in the areas we think they will be most effective. During subsequent reservices, we will clear any traps. We will also check bait to see if rodents are expressing any interest in it. We typically like to come out every other day to monitor activity during the initial phase of our rodent control process. Once the infestation is under control, we will move to monthly service calls to check traps and rebait. We can also provide sanitization services to areas rodents have been infesting.

What's your rodent problem is under control, we will finish up our exclusion work. Depending on the extent of the infestation, we may or may not begin exclusion work right away. However, when we do begin, we will use a combination of foaming products, wire mesh, and steel wool to seal off entry points that rodents are using. We can go as low or as high as necessary to ensure that rodents cannot get in their favorite entry points, which are typically in the home’s crawlspace and its attic.
